Drummond First UConn Freshman to Declare for NBA

STORRS, Conn. — Connecticut center Andre Drummond has declared for the NBA Draft after a single season of college basketball. Smith, Bradley Granted Release from UConn

HARTFORD (CBB/Rivals) – Connecticut has confirmed that basketball players Michael Bradley and Roscoe Smith have both been released from their scholarships, a move that will allow them to transfer. The pair would become the fourth and fifth underclassmen to leave the program since the NCAA turned down a waiver request would have allowed UConn to play in the 2013 NCAA tournament despite failing to meet academic qualifications. Larry Brown Has Serious Interest in SMU Job

DALLAS (CBB/Wire) – Larry Brown says he has serious interest in the coaching vacancy at SMU. He says he has not yet been offered the job. Brown told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he had spoken again to SMU athletic director Steve Orsini since they first met on Monday. The 71-year-old Hall of Fame coach expects his agent to have further conversations with Orsini. Kentucky Players Declare for NBA Draft

LEXINGTON (CBB/Parrish) – Kentucky standouts Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones, Doron Lamb and Marquis Teague will announce their future plans at a Tuesday afternoon press conference. Barring a surprise, all five will declare for early entry into the 2012 NBA Draft.
