Lewis Hamilton today scored pole position during an exciting qualifying session in which for the first time this season the Red Bull team failed to score.Prior to today’s Korean Grand Prix session, Sebastian Vettel had scored 12 pole positions while Mark Webber, in the other Red Bull, had scored the other three. “Of course, pole position is still only the first step, particularly when we know that tomorrow’s race will be long and unpredictable,” said Hamilton.”Pole is always a great achievement and I’m particularly proud to have achieved it at the team’s 700th Formula 1 Ggrand Prix.”

The Formula One paddock in Korea was in sombre mood on Monday after it awoke to the sad news of British driver Dan Wheldon’s death following a huge, multi-car accident in Sunday’s Indycar season finale in Las Vegas, USA.
