Race – Rosberg an F1 Winner After Shanghai Thriller

20 April 2012

How ironic was it that in a race that depended on tyre wear and strategy, it should all come right for Mercedes and Nico Rosberg as the young German scored his maiden Grand Prix victory by 20.6s as a fantastic war raged a long way behind him? Rosberg was in charge all the way, proving convincingly that Mercedes have solved their tyre degradation issues. It was their first ‘works’ victory since Juan Manuel Fangio won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza back in 1955, prior to their withdrawal from the sport. To begin with Rosberg was chased off the grid [...]

Documents Shed Further Light on Petrino Scandal

20 April 2012

FAYETTEVILLE (CFB/Taylor) – Another day, so, as expected, another detail or two has surfaced in the soap opera that marked the end of Bobby Petrino’s tenure at Arkansas. Documents released Thursday, including 25 pages of handwritten notes athletic director Jeff Long kept of conversations with Petrino during the midst of the scandal, reveal that, at least according to the coach, Petrino’s sexual relationship with former football Jessica Dorrell began sometime in October but ended at some point in early February. The affair, again according to Petrino ended more than a month before Dorrell was hired by UA, with the two [...]

LOS ANGELES (HELIN/NBA) – Ramon Sessions will tell anyone who will listen he is enjoying his time as a Laker – he has come in and provided some quickness and playmaking at the point guard the team desperately needed under new coach Mike Brown. He said he really wants to return to the Lakers next season. Just not enough to pick up his player option for next year. Rather, he is likely to opt-out and become a free agent so he can get paid. But he told the Los Angeles Times he’d like to get paid by the Lakers ideally. [...]

Rielly Ready to Get Back to Work

20 April 2012

Morgan Rielly really didn’t need to play another minute this season to confirm what NHL scouts already know — he’s an extraordinary force on defense for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League. On Friday, Rielly will play for the first time since Nov. 6 when he skates out for Game 1 of the WHL Eastern Conference Finals against the Edmonton Oil Kings. “The reason behind my playing again has nothing to do with my draft or anything like that,” Rielly told NHL.com. “It’s because I want to help my team win. I think we have a team [...]
